The 26th annual Tri-span 10K/5K starts just south of the Wilmington Downtown Hilton on Water Street. The 10K tours historic downtown Wilmington, traverses a 3-bridge loop as well as taking you into the Battleship NC Memorial and then returns to the finish with a quarter mile flat, fast finish. The 5K tours downtown Wilmington and finishes with at the same point as the 10K. The awards ceremony will be held at Waterfront Park overlooking the Battleship Memorial with music and refreshments such as fresh local melons, bagels, and southern style chicken biscuits. A crafts fair and farmers market is held just down the street so you check that out after the race. The first 500 Total Runners get a coveted Tri-span tank top with custom Tri-span logo.

You never can tell who will show up for this race. Last year it was a Kenyan marathoner who beat our local favorite by a few seconds. Four years ago it was the Aruba Marathon team. Their best finish was a 3rd place but they loved the race. This year we hope it’s you who joins us for this awesome race in a beautiful setting. All funds raised go to the Wilmington Family YMCA to extend scholarship memberships to kids who can’t afford to join the Y. No one is turned away from the Wilmington Family YMCA due to a lack of money thanks to your support.

Come join the fun and run with 500 other people to test yourself and raise much needed money for the YMCA. This year's Premier Sponsor is Maus, Warwick, Matthews & Co. They will be represented in the race by several participants from their excellent firm.

FINISH/TIMING/COMPUTER SCORING:
Timing will be performed using the Championship system. Unofficial times will be available immediately at the finish line on the digital display clock. Official times will be posted as results become available. RACE DAY CHECK-IN IS MANDATORY TO RECEIVE CHAMPIONCHIP WHICH WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE FINISH LINE. FAILURE TO RETURN CHIP WILL RESULT IN A $30 CHARGE.
